Yes. British Sign Language interpretation is provided at the first Jumu'ah Khutbah every Friday. A dedicated seating area at the front of the prayer hall ensures a clear sightline to the interpreter throughout the sermon and prayer. No prior booking is required — simply arrive before the Khutbah begins.
Yes. We hold a monthly Deaf Community Gathering that combines a short Islamic talk delivered in BSL, an open Q&A session, and informal refreshments. We also work to ensure that key mosque events and educational programmes include BSL interpretation or captioning where possible. Contact us to find out what is coming up.
Yes. Leeds Grand Mosque is equipped with hearing induction loop systems in the main prayer halls and meeting rooms. These are compatible with hearing aids set to the T (telecoil) setting. If you have difficulty locating the loop coverage area, please speak to a member of staff on arrival and they will assist you.
Yes. Personal spiritual guidance and pastoral support is available by appointment. We can arrange for a BSL interpreter to be present if required. Please get in touch through our contact form or by phone and we will be happy to arrange a session that suits you.
We signpost community members to a range of BSL Islamic resources, including video content covering the five pillars, prayer, and Qur'anic teaching. Our team can also recommend specific resources based on your level of knowledge and what you would like to learn. Ask us when you get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
